In this work, I invite viewers to confront their relationship with violence and recognize that America is a nation built on violence and continues to prioritize it. I am responding to Federal Law Enforcement’s classification of batons and nightsticks as intermediate weapons. I recorded audio of myself reciting the Police Code of Ethics while physically exerting myself by striking various objects with a baton. This audio connects to a transducer, allowing viewers to feel the vibrations of the strikes as they stand on the platform.

Viewers can step onto the platform and wear headphones for a fully immersive experience. By constructing the infinity mirror, I reflect on how we perpetuate violence in this country through our own submission. The chainlink LED lights are a nod to land violence, and the rise of individualism perpetuated through capitalism, which relies on the exploitation of human beings.
